The high water brought an abundance of grilse into the Mount Falcon Fishery. It was pleasing that the majority of the grilse were in the 5-6 Ib category, with the cessation of the Summer drift netting it was good to see these fish returning to the river. The high clean water in the last two weeks on the month made conditions perfect for the fly, and on a number of days it out fished all other methods. Those enjoying success on the fly were Martin & Maeve Davison, Mike Hornsbey, Garry Perks and the Whitwell Party. Bill Whitwell has his first fly caught Salmon during the week and quickly followed it up with another two. Those lucky enough to be on the Erriff & Owenduff ( 3 rivers package) as the water was falling after the numerous spates also enjoyed some great fishing. With all the rivers dropping down after another flood, prospects look good for the month ahead.
